A new focus on Wellbeing for Midlifers

Welcome to Timely Coaching

Work with a psychologically grounded, results-focused coach

The work I do here is built on a simple but powerful idea:

Sustainable change doesn’t just come from trying harder. It comes from understanding yourself better, and building goals, habits and routines that work with your psychology, not against it.

This programme suits you if:

  • You feel stuck, overwhelmed or depleted

  • You’ve tried to improve your health and wellbeing before, but couldn’t sustain it

  • You struggle with motivation, consistency or self-criticism

  • You want practical support, not a wellness trend

  • You want a psychologically grounded approach

  • You are tired of all-or-nothing thinking

  • You’re ready to invest in yourself properly

I am a graduate and a qualified coach. The programmes I have created are based on:

  • The GROW coaching model

  • SMART goal-setting

  • Positive psychology

  • The PERMA wellbeing framework

  • Mindset coaching

  • Habit formation science

  • Time-wise living

Midlife is a stage of life that requires a different approach. Many people realise that their energy levels are lower than they used to be. They realise motivation feels inconsistent. Their life feels out of balance, and their wellbeing keeps slipping down the priority list. And repeated attempts to ‘do better’ don’t last.

It is a time of life when health and wellbeing quietly become increasingly important to us. But often harder to tackle.

The Midlife Reboot is a six week programme that is built on the GROW coaching approach. Using this model creates structure and momentum, and is a well-established practical coaching process. You will explore the following:

  • Goal - what do you want to change or create?

  • Reality - What is happening now? And what is getting in the way?

  • Options - What could you do to achieve your goals that fits into your life now?

  • Way Forward - What will you commit to this week? Next week? Next month?

The programme is also anchored in the PERMA model. This supports whole life wellbeing across five essential areas:

  • Positive Emotion- emotional wellbeing and self-compassion

  • Engagement - energy, interest and vitality

  • Relationships - connection, boundaries and support

  • Meaning - purpose, values and direction

  • Accomplishment - progress, confidence and self-trust

Finding balance in these five areas creates wellbeing as a whole, not just in one particular area.

Not yet ready for a full programme? You can try a Midlife Reset session.

These are powerful, stand-alone sessions. Many clients start with this route and then move on to the Midlife Reboot Programme. A Reset session is 90 minutes based around a theme of your choosing. Visit the Midlife Reset page to find out more.

I studied psychology many years ago, originally intending to move into counselling. But it never quite felt like the right path for me. I was drawn to something more positive and forward-looking - an approach that offered practical solutions and genuinely empowered people.

Years later, I discovered coaching. And I knew I had found what I had been looking for.

I trained initially as a business coach and developed a particular interest in time management. This interest deepened profoundly after losing my husband in 2018. That experience changed how I viewed life, time, and what truly matters. I became acutely aware of how easily we take time for granted, and how intentional we need to be about where we place our energy, attention and focus.

I immersed myself in studying habits, goal setting, overwhelm, energy cycles and the practical systems that help people make meaningful change. This work shaped both my coaching and my personal life.

Yet there was one area where I struggled myself: my health and wellbeing.

Despite my knowledge and good intentions, I found myself cancelling exercise classes, reaching for the wrong foods when tired or stressed, and spending too little time outdoors. I began to ask myself, why is this so hard to change?

As I studied mindset more deeply, I became aware of my self-talk, my thought patterns, my triggers and my motivations. And slowly, I began to create more consistency and ease in how I cared for my wellbeing.

Around this time, I discovered Positive Psychology and the PERMA model, developed by Professor Martin Seligman. This well-established framework describes the five essential elements that allow people to flourish, rather than simply get through life: Positive Emotion, Engagement, Relationships, Meaning and Accomplishment.

PERMA offered something powerful - a practical way to understand wellbeing that goes far beyond productivity or fleeting happiness. It provides a balanced foundation for a life that feels energising, meaningful and sustainable over time.

I realised this was where my work truly belonged.

Today, I use my coaching skills and psychological understanding to help people in midlife improve their health and wellbeing, not through willpower or rigid routines, but by understanding the psychological patterns that often stand in the way of change.

In my personal life, I am improving my wellbeing all the time. I use my Time Management skills to ensure I get a balance across the five PERMA areas of life to feel fulfilled and balanced. I swim and walk everyday and ensure I get lots of time outdoors. And I am increasing my mobility with stretches and strength training. But, most importantly, I am doing all this with a strong awareness of the thought processes and habits behind it all. I know myself well.

Because in my experience, the greatest obstacle to looking after ourselves is rarely a lack of knowledge.
It’s the way we think.
